Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (IANS) A five-year-old white male tiger died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park due to liver-related ailments on Tuesday, said an official.
The white tiger Subhranshu was suffering from liver-related ailments for the last one month, said zoo deputy director Jayant Kumar Das.
The tiger was undergoing treatment under the supervision of experts from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
Das said the white tiger, who was a major draw at the Nandankanan Zoological Park, suddenly collapsed on Saturday and stopped food intake.
Subhranshu was born to Royal Bengal Tiger Maneesh and white tigress Sneha on July 25, 2014.
With the death of Subhranshu, the tiger population has come down to 25 at the zoo including 12 male and 13 female.
