Gandhiji opposes Bengal Partition, supports boycott of British goods. During Gokhale Lajpat Rai's deputation to Britain, he appeals to Colonial statesmen to treat India ""an integral part of the Empire"" with consideration. Sanjeevan, weekly from Calcutta, also raised the motto to boycott British Goods.

| 3/17/1999 | An international seminar on UN Peacekeeping was co-jointly hosted by Ministry of External affairs and Ministry of Defence at New Delhi from 17 to 19 March 1999. The seminar was conducted by HQ Army Training Command, Shimla on behalf of the Indian Army. A total of 126 foreign delegates from 71 countries participated in the seminar. |

| 11/21/1961 | Communist China announced a cease-fire in its border war with India and said it would withdraw its troops 12 miles behind the boundary lines that existed in 1959. Before the ceasefire, Chinese troops had seized the Indian headquarters at Bomdila near Tibet and were threatening the Indian state of Assam. He was a great devotee of Shiva and Shakti and took intense "Sadhana". His disciples and devotees set up an ashram at Kharyar in Srinagar in his name. |
